| Hi there, when I create an object with a Long noun, example 'blue¯mats/mats', only the 'mats' input works. If I type 'examine blue mats' then it does not work. Is this because the input for long nouns is not completed in the player? |

Yes it is working. Maybe you forgot a / characters? Correct Vocabulary Object Noun Syntax: /blue¯mats/mats/ Best wishes, catventure |

| Hmm this is the output I get:
Please tell me your next command. >x mats
It's some of those blue colored foam mats used to pad the floor for your protection.
Tell me what to do next please. >x blue mats
Sorry. I do not understand "blue" as a noun in that sentence.
What i've done is created a NOUN under #17 "/blue¯mats/mats/" as this is a background object.
Then under RESPONSES: [start]examine blue¯mats#room=1[acts]cmessIt's some of those blue colored foam mats used to pad the floor for your protection.[end]
Dunno what i've done wrong? |

| Hi Ringhawk,
Aha! You've stumbled on to fact that I have not yet created facility to use long noun for ordinary nouns or character nouns. Only Object nouns!
From your initial post I thought you were using an Object made in Object Editor.
Anyhow, I had meant to update TAB to include the other types of nouns too - until I got sidetracked with other code...
Sorry for trouble.
I will make it compatible with all types of nouns. In the meantime your code is quite correct; just use 'examine mats' when testing until next release.
Thanks, catventure
UPDATE: Implemented for next release. |

| Thanks alot for the info. I thought there was something missing there. TAB is the easiest IF program I have come across. I have tried TADS, INFORM 7 others but never can get the full hang of them. ADRIFT is probably the most similar to TAB and I have found it easy. But I like the things your adding keep up the good work. |

| Hi Ringhawk,
Thanks for your comments. I have INFORM 7 and ADRIFT also. I'm glad you think TAB an "easy" creator to use.
